Tikanga: Library | English with Subtitles | Te Kura o Manunui

- Our library is for everyone in our school.

- You can visit the library with your class at class time or at lunch time.

- Take off you shoes before entering the library. Leave them in a tidy line in the hallway.

- If you have books to return to the library, always place them in the return box.

- Take a rākau. These are wooden paddles near the library entrance.

- When you take a book from a bin or a shelf, place your rākau in the spot so then you will remember where your book was when you have finished with it.

- If you’re going to issue a book, take the book to the issue desk.

- During class time your teacher will issue your book.

- You can issue a book at lunch time if Whaea Raina is there.

- After issuing your book, return your rākau to the rākau container.

- The library is a quiet a calm place, so whisper to each other, share book with friends, and do quiet activities in the library.

- Help to look after our library. If you use blankets or cushions, fold and tidy them before you leave. Tidy book bins and shelves, too.

We hope you enjoy the library!
