School Closure – Strike Action
The New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI) have announced a full-day strike to take place on Thursday 23 October 2025. This action involves primary school teachers, principals, support staff, and Ministry of Education specialists. Many of our staff will be participating, and as a result Te Kura o Manunui and other primary schools in the Ōtūmoetai cluster will be closed for the day.
After careful consideration of the health and safety of our tamariki and kaimahi (staff), we have determined it is not possible to keep the school open. We therefore ask that you make alternative arrangements for the care of your tamaiti/tamariki on this date.
We understand that this closure may cause inconvenience for whānau, and we appreciate your support and understanding. Please be assured that tamariki safety remains our top priority.
Should there be any further updates regarding the strike, we will communicate these with you as soon as possible.
Much appreciated and thank you for your understanding.
