Te Kawanga Whare — Dawn Ceremony for Te Kura o Manunui

On Tuesday 23rd January 2024 we had the dawn ceremony for our new kura.

Planning began five years ago overseen by the tumuaki Ngaere Durie with guidance from the local hapū Ngai Tamarāwaho.

The Waharoa is made of aluminium designed by ringatoi Whare Thompson. It is a depiction of Maharaia Winiata (1912-1960) and Francis Winiata (1913-2006).
